What’s so good about today?

QUESTION?

What’s so good about today?

ANSWER

I’m alive!

It’s too easy to get caught up in the same old, same old.  It’s too tempting to dismiss the ordinary as being not good enough.  Excitement can be addictive.  Unless we feel an adrenaline rush we can feel flat, dispirited, out of sorts.

I wrote “STORYTELLING” to remind me that every day can be special.  Every day should be special.  It’s not always easy to create something special out of the ordinary, but if we are here at least we have the chance to do it!

Carpe Diem!

This is for a very special friend.  She knows who she is!

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

  • How good are you at seizing the day?
  • How do you cope with the flat times?
  • What can you share that might be of help to others?

Please leave your comments.  I would love to hear from you.

Corinne

POEM FOR TODAY

STORYTELLING

Today’s a page to write upon, as yet there’s nothing writ,

But come evening there’s a story that’s been written bit by bit,

Maybe it’s been heroic, or more likely it’s been bland,

Just another day of workaday in nothing special land.

Too many days drift by us in a blur of time eclipsed

And it’s not ’til something shocks us that we see what we have missed,

All the wonders of the universe close by or in the sky

Are vying for our pleasure, yet we let them pass us by.

Or what about relationships, the friend we could have made,

Or the children busy playing and with whom we could have played,

Or the partner or the parent, well the list goes on and on,

Did they figure in our story now the day is nearly gone?

Or did we live another day just like the one before?

What’s the hurry, what’s the worry, we assume there will be more,

And tomorrow there’ll be time enough to live the life we planned,

‘Tis a pity life’s not privy to the time frame we demand.

And so it’s only sensible to make each new day count,

“Carpe Diem!” cry the sages, “for no day should you discount,

Since you cannot know the hour or the day your time runs out

Best be sure to write the story that you want while you’re about.”
